Darren specialises in commercial, corporate and regulatory litigation and international arbitration. Before founding FitzGerald Lawyers he was Head of Asia Dispute Desolution at Bird & Bird and partner at Salans LLP in Hong Kong.
Darren is a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, panel arbitrator of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission and panellist of the Hong Kong Office of the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre. He is an accredited mediator with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and panel arbitrator/mediator of the Hong Kong Financial Dispute Resolution Centre.
Darren is an Honorary Associate Professor at the Australian National University where he lectures international arbitration and commercial law to postgraduate students. He serves on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Law Society of New South Wales.
Darren is admitted to practice in Australia, Hong Kong and England & Wales.
He holds first class honours degrees in Arts and Laws from the Australian National University and a Masters of Laws from Cambridge where he was a Chevening Scholar.
